Are you in desperate need of a sploof? We’re here to help you build one from scratch using only materials you can find in any house.  It’s actually that simple, and in this guide we will walk you through the process step by step.

A sploof is a device that helps you smoke cannabis discreetly, and it can be made with materials that you probably have lying around your house. In this guide, we will teach you how to make the best at home DIY sploof. We will also give you some other options in case you don’t have the materials.

The first step is to gather your materials. You will need:

  • Dryer sheetsDIY sploof
  • A rubber band
  • Scissors
  • PVC Pipe, toilet paper roll, or paper towel roll

Once you have gathered your materials, it is time to start making your sploof.

Step 1: Cutting your Sploof

The first step is to cut your pipe or roll into a toilet paper roll size. This is the ideal size for a sploof.   You want it to be big enough to eliminate your smoke, but at a certain point there is no need to have it bigger.

Step 2: Stuffing the Sploof

Then, take 3 to 4 dryer sheets. If you don’t have dryer sheets, you can use single ply toilet paper or another breathable paper. We suggest using scented dryer sheets. The scent will further help to diffuse and eliminate the smell of the cannabis. If using toilet paper, spray it with an air freshener lightly. This will help to mask the smell similar to a scented dryer sheet. Some other alternatives are rosemary or mint leaves to naturally scent your sploof.

Step 3: Rubber Band Seal

Once you have done this, take another dryer sheet and secure it with a rubber band to the tube. This is a key step to ensure you have the seal air tight. Make sure the dryer sheet is fully secure. If you don’t have a dryer sheet, a thin towel that allows air to move through is a good option.

Step 4: Testing your DIY Sploof

Now, it is time to test out your sploof. Take a deep breath and blow into the Sploof. If everything has been done correctly, you should see a small amount of smoke come out. This is normal, the smoke should not smell though. The amount of smoke that comes out is not enough to set off a fire alarm unless you are right next to it. If you’re in a room with a smoke alarm you will be fine, just make sure you aren’t right next to it.

Do Sploofs work?

Yes! Sploofs are very effective at hiding the smell of cannabis smoke. The best part about them is that they are easy and cheap to make. With a little bit of creativity, you can make one that perfectly fits your needs.

Need a Long Term Sploof?

If you’re looking for a sploof that will last you a year or more, the DIY sploof isn’t your ideal daily user. Smoke Trap offers premium sploofs that work great and don’t require any materials or assembly on your part. All you have to do is exhale into it, and the Smoketrap will do the rest. It’s ideal if you’re in a dorm room or your parents house long term.

You can also buy replaceable filters so you won’t be having to buy a new unit every month.

Laundry Detergent Sploof

Using laundry detergent as a sploof was definitely invented by a stoner engineer.

Almost everyone has a bottle of soap and a straw laying around. All you have to do is make two holes in the cap.

One hole for the straw to exhale into and one hole for the filtered air to come out of.

This sploof isn’t as effective as one with activated carbon, but it is useful in a pinch. This is definitely not the way to go if you’re looking for the best sploof, but it can hold its own.

A better variation of this sploof would be to

use a jar of Ona Gel instead. Ona Gel was designed to absorb and neutralize odors far better than laundry soap; it’s so good, even growers use it.

Rules To Follow with Sploofs

  1. Snuff Out Your Bowl While You’re Inhaling
  2. Use An Odor Neutralizer, Not A Cover Up Scent
  3. Get Fresh Air Moving In, Stale Air Moving Out
  4. Smoke In The Room Furthest From The Front Door
  5. Use a Vaporizer. They Produce Vapor. That’s A Lot Easier To Neutralize Than Smoke.

  6. A great way to keep the air purified right as the smoke exits your mouth is to use a filter or something known as a sploof. All you have to do is exhale through the device when you’re smoking. It filters the air passing through it, preventing any bad odors from escaping into the surroundings.

  7. It’s called a sploof. A sploof is a cylindrical object that filters cannabis smoke through a set of perforated materials. The device uses a filtering material, such as a dryer sheet, to remove smoke and odor particles from smoke blown into it.
